New year's day Cooper's Hawk

This morning Linda and I saw a female Cooper's hawk just outside our front door. We often see them checking out owe bird feeders. They are very regular, coming morning ,noon and just before dark. If seen, sighting can be very brief, a few seconds. Often we just see the birds scattering, with only a shadow passing.
Today it was a female, brownish. She remained still for a good while, until I moved and startled her. I went out the front door about 10 minutes later and scared her up again. We have seen her hide here a number of times.
