As I went across the causeway on Morse Reservoir on Little Chicago Road, I saw some shapes out in the middle of the sheltered cove near where I used to live. I pulled into the Harbourtown apartments and walked over to where could gain a vantage point. I was able to identify three loons actively feeding in the deepest part of the lake there. They still had their summer plumage. I went to the Morse Beach area where I have seen upwards of thirty loons at once, but nothing. I did see a horned Greene and three swans. The day was dark and rainy and it was nice to get to the shop and get my fire going. I worked on a prototype barstool for a customer and it seems to be a success.
